This information is from a survey of the Old Dalrymple Cemetery on Bush River (near Kinards, SC) that was accomplished by Barney Lewis Jones of Newberry, S.C. Although the map is not dated, it is known that Barney Lewis Jones (25 Jun 1872-19 May 1937) surveyed this cemetery prior to 7 Mar 1931 because he mentioned it in a letter of that date to Othella Pawnee Jones (his baby sister) (9 Dec 1878-17 Oct 1967). He drew up a map of the cemetery showing 17 standing tombstones (with inscriptions listed on separate pages) and Xs indicating old rock markers for graves without tombstones. The cemetery is located in Laurens County, SC, on State Route 560 about 400 feet north of the Bush River (34°21'50.79" N, 81°47'4.07" W / 34.364108, -81.784464 ) and is in extremely deteriorated condition. It is only through the extraordinary efforts of Susan Meyer Byrd, Terry Gladfelter, and Philip Jones that this information has become available. I have the original map and survey as a pdf file that can be uploaded with info on the 17 tombstones. The photo was taken at the Dalrymple Reunion on 27 Jul 1934. It shows C. Willis Jones with his wife, Myrtle, and son, Talmage, at the graves of his great grandpartents, Samuel Jones and Rebecca Dalrymple Jones. Rebecca was a daughter of John and Susanna Dalrymple who are buried in unmarked graves here in this graveyard.
