Missionary Eva Field Peters grew up in Des Moines, Iowa. With a background in ?, music, social work and biblical guides, she completed her missionary preparations by studying medicine at the Women's Medical College of North Western University in 1890. Eva Field came to Korea in the fall of 1897 as a medical missionary of the Presbyterian Church in the U S A and worked for a number of years at the Women's Department at Jelungwon (? Severance Hospital) run by Dr. Avison. She married Alexander A. Pieters in 1900 and wholly dedicated herself to mission work for 20 years. She worked in Seoul until 1913, thereafter in ? and S? as a missionary, and finally, from 1937, as a ? at Severance Medical College. Missionary Eva Field gave her all, for family, church and work. Her ? mission efforts included serving as a ? teacher at ? Girl's high school and promoting the protection of children in Seoul in particular, she wrote a ? textbook in ? and worked in the publication of ? for a number of years. She passed away in July 1932.
