Memorial Park contains records of the fallen for all of the conflicts Maryland residents have been involved in from the French and Indian War to the Present Day. It also contains information for the Evangelical Reformed Church and Cemetery that were (abandoned) in 1924. For the Evangelical Reformed Church and Cemetery, a bronze plaque was erected to establish the burials of the earliest settlers in Frederick. No stones exist today and many of these internments were originally at the Trinity Chapel (abandoned). The plaque in Memorial Grounds Park has been able to add 366 inscriptions from the two cemeteries. There are 30 more names recorded on a plaque at the Trinity Chapel cemetery. In 1904 Michael A. Gruber copied inscription then remaining. Scharf also made transcription here. Thus, the present compiler, Jacob Mehrling Holdcraft, as published in Names In Stone, by incorporating information recorded by Scharf, and Gruber. All other memorials in the park commemorates soldiers from every American war from the French and Indian War to the Gulf War it is the only park in the state of Maryland of its kind.
