Not a cemetery. Rather, the location where their plane crashed in a field. Music fans have made it a memorial site for the 3 musicians (Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens) and their pilot (Roger Peterson), with a few, small, metal markers. It is a 1km/half-mile walk along a grassy pathway cut through the field, to the actual site. The farmer who owns the land has permitted this as a permanent tribute to them. On Gull Ave. is a pair of large black glasses (Holly's trademark look) to indicate where the pathway is. No big sign, easy to miss if you're not paying attention. The area around it is simply farmland. Drive to the 'intersection' of Gull Avenue & 315th Street. Then walk along the pathway to the site itself. Note: it is uneven ground, grassy, can be muddy (assume it's snowy/wet/icy in winter). NOT recommended for strollers or wheelchairs, although those who are truly determined, can probably make it (but be sure there is someone around who can help!)
