Holy Cross Cemetery located at 3620 Tilden Avenue in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York City is an American Roman Catholic cemetery operated by the Diocese of Brooklyn. It was founded in 1849. In June of that year, Bishop John Hughes approached James and Mary Duffy and purchased land from them which consisted of the old Van Brunt farm in the town of Flatbush, at the geographical center of Kings County. The first burial took place on July 13, 1849 in what is now known as Holy Cross Cemetery. The cemetery is maintained in fine condition, even including most of the older burials.
