Old Camp Grant Military Cemetery is located on private property. Area depicted in photographs is the officer's section of what little remains of the cemetery which is located in the backyard of a private residence. Please do not disturb the elderly property owners. Per military custom when abandoning a military installation in the nineteenth century, all military internments are relocated (in this instance, presumably to the new Fort Grant). Last civilian headstone (that of an infant - Jennie Laramie, 5 months and 7 days) was noted being present in the late 1960s. There are currently no headstones remaining. In addition to the officer's section of the cemetery, the remains of the rock wall bordering the southern limit of the cemetery are also present; all other boundary markers were presumably destroyed when the current residence was constructed in the early 1970s. Current owner reports finding bone fragments that occasionally surface.
