The Watson-Rowland Cemetery is an excellent example of a small rural family cemetery. Located in the back right corner of the cemetery is a singular headstone for multiple family members of the Washington Lee Rowland family. The entire family including the father, mother, and two children were killed by a tornado on March 13, 1913. This was part of a series of tornadoes that swept through the area, including a tornado that heavily damaged the Murfreesboro Square.
